What
Do Faithful Christians Do?
1. Faithful Christians practice the "golden rule." "Therefore
all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do
ye even so to them: for this is the law and the
prophets." Matthew 7:12
2. Faithful Christians put the Lord and his kingdom
(the church) first. "But seek ye first the kingdom
of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you." Matthew 6:33
3. Faithful Christians grow and develop spiritually. "As
newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye
may grow thereby:" 1 Peter 2:2
4. Faithful Christians attend every service possible. "Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner
of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more,
as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25
5. Faithful Christians look for the second coming
of Jesus. "Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour
Jesus
Christ;" Titus 2:13
6. Faithful Christians pray regularly. "Pray
without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is
the will of God
in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
7. Faithful Christians are concerned about their influence. "That
ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without
rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,
among whom ye shine as lights in the world;" Philippians 2:15
8. Faithful Christians dress modestly and decently. "I
will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands,
without wrath and doubting." 1 Timothy 2:8
9. Faithful Christians submit to and support the elders
in everything as they lead the church in the path of righteousness. "Obey
them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves:
for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account,
that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that
is unprofitable for you." Hebrews 13:17
10. Faithful Christians are concerned about the souls
of others and do what they can to get the gospel to them. "For
what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose
his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his
soul?" Matthew 16:26
